Music Review: 8 Zipp - “Work In A Glass House”
"I'm a big fan of this guy! I really admire his appreciation for Hip Hop classics from back in the day.
So, here’s my thoughts…..
8 Zipp’s unique style and distinct voice make him a standout in the Boston music scene. His latest album, Work In A Glass House, solidifies his place as one of the city's hottest artists. Known for putting his own spin on hIp hop classic tracks, he doesn’t disappoint with standout reinterpretations like "Built to Win," 2nd release of this new project (I absolutely love it!), which follows in the footsteps of his prior reworks of 50 Cent's "Wanksta" and Chubb Rock's "Treat 'Em Right."And many others.
The album's beat selection is incredible on this project (shout out to Kaydabooss, Frank Nino & ShowtymeOTB). Tracks like "Good Memories," which delivers a crazy vibe that’s bound to get stuck in your head. Collaborations throughout the album highlight some of Boston’s finest, adding depth and diversity to the project. "Got This" features Milkshaw Benedict (I love this guy), a fellow Boston talent, while "Scoring" with TwoGzlikeGucci and "Dirty Champagne" with 2 Boston legends, (which I think both are under rated), Eddy Fish and Supastar LT bring a powerful energy that showcases the strength of the Boston hip-hop community. The first track released from this project "11:11 LA," featuring Say Blanco and Cez, blend seamlessly with the album’s vibe, adding unique flavors to the mix.
8 Zipp’s storytelling shines on tracks like "Bigger Picture" and "Can It Be," where he gives stories from the streets with a raw authenticity that few can match. His ability to connect with listeners on a personal level is a testament to his skills as both a rapper and a storyteller.
With Work In A Glass House, 8 Zipp cements himself as arguably one of the hottest artist in Boston.
This album is a testament to his talent and a must-listen for anyone looking to experience the true sound of The New Boston hip-hop culture, he continues to carve out his own lane
My review, my thoughts, Hate it or Love it…. I don’t care, it's the real Truth and Facts. That’s what’s missing in New England Hip Hop and Hip Hop as a whole.
**Note:
I’ll be reviewing music on a consistent basis as new releases come out. My reviews are purely about the music, with no bias or personal connections. I have no ties to any artist and I haven’t met this artist. It's all about recognizing and appreciating good music for what it is.".
